It's Autumn Up There!

Autumn comes rather quickly in the mountains above us.

And when we see the first signs of color
as we look up
from our back porch...

we know if we don't get up there soon
we may just miss the show.

Let's go for a drive!

The Alpine Loop...
my favorite way
to welcome the new season!

  4. Such beauty!  Some of the landscape is very similar to north central New Mexico, which makes me miss it even more!

Fabulous fall show in your mountains...we are seeing our fall colors earlier this year...

  8. I'm hoping an early Fall doesn't mean an early Winter. I do love Winter but I'm just not ready for the cold yet.

  9. The fall colors are beautiful in the trees, but I just have to say that your header photo is the most amazing one I've seen in ages.  SO COOL!!  Hope your autumn is going well and that your back isn't too sore from planting bulbs (like mine is!).

  10. Thank you... that was a fun picture to take. I've been a little obsessed with milkweed lately trying to coax Monarchs to love my garden.

  22. Lovely photos, looks like you had a nice drive, autumn brings out some lovely foliage colours. Up in the mountains we get the foliage in autumn, but not so much were i am, its not cold enough most of the time.

  23. Ahh.. the changing of the colors actually has more to do with the amount of daylight than the temperature. My next post will explore that idea a bit further.
